My Favorite Pregnancy Snack

At 38+ weeks pregnant, I’m hungry all the time. But thanks to an ever-growing baby pressing on my stomach, I also fill up really fast. So instead of relying on large meals, I find myself snacking every few hours. Sometimes that means an organic chocolate milk shake or sweet potato fries, but most of the time, I try to think of these as mini meals, made up of several food groups. This yogurt parfait is one of my favorites…and it’s a big hit with my 2 year old as well. The yogurt is high in protein and calcium (both important nutrients during pregnancy), the granola provides whole grains and a hint of sweetness, the apple has fiber, and cinnamon is believed to help regulate blood sugar.

6 oz plain organic Greek yogurt
3/4 cup granola (I like Nature’s Path Vanilla Almond Flax Plus, which in addition to containing omega-3s, has less sugar than other brands)
1/2 apple, diced
1 tsp cinnamon
